I wrote the following on Monday only for Boris to tell me on Tuesday I HAD to close. If only the decision had been made for me earlier it would have been so much easier!
It is with a heavy heart that I have made the decision to temporarily close (or press pause for a while!)
The Government did not make it clear last Friday whether beauty salons and hairdressers should close but after a few sleepless nights I have decided it is morally the right thing to do. It is impossible for me to adhere to Government guidelines of keeping 2 meters away from my customers so this puts myself and my clients at risk. I think it won’t be long before all salons are ordered to cease trading. One factor that made this decision so hard was that being self employed I have now lost all my income. To date the Government have offered help to all but the self-employed. No doubt I have many more sleepless nights to come.
I am going to have quite a lot of down time so as well as taking Alfie for extra extra long walks (while I’m allowed to), I will be working ON my business rather than IN it. Jobs and admin that have needed doing for a while but I never have time for.
Is there anything you would like from me? New treatments or retail products or anything else you feel would benefit you? Are there any videos or tutorials you would like me to do? Please let me know.
I have put my heart and soul into my business for the last 11 years and can honesty say I love my job. Fear not though, I will be back up and running as soon as all this madness is over! In the meantime though I will keep in touch.
