Hard work, dedication, and a lot of studying have brought me to where I am now – a hair removal and spray tan specialist. There’s something I truly love about removing hair, whether by waxing or electrolysis. I get so much satisfaction from what I do, especially when my clients love their results.

about me
In a previous life, I always thought I would become a doctor, but instead I spent many years working in the graphic design industry. When the recession hit in 2009 and work began to dry up, I realised it was time for a change.
Cutting a very long story short, I had never done anything else and had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do next! I spent time every day scrolling the internet looking for inspiration, and one day I came across an advert for a mobile spray tanning franchise. At the time, mobile tanning was brand new.
Rather than buying into a franchise, I decided to source my own training and equipment. I even enrolled on a one-day intensive website-building course at college and built my own (very basic!) website. That was the beginning of my beauty career.
During my very first year (in the middle of a recession) I carried out 650 mobile spray tans and, as far as I’m aware, was the first person to offer this service in Bournemouth and Poole. In 2020 I stopped offering a mobile service and began welcoming clients to me instead. In 2022, I moved to a beautiful salon in central Westbourne, CWD Hair, Beauty & Education, where I am still based.

I’m still just as busy and, to date, I’ve performed well over 10,000 spray tans.
Winning National Waxing Expert of the Year for the first time felt like winning the lottery, and in the same year I also won Spray Tan Expert of the Year and Excellence in Customer Service.
Over the years, I’ve continued to train extensively, qualifying as a makeup artist and training in LVL lash lifts, dermaplaning, laser hair removal, and electrolysis for hair and skin blemish removal.
Seeing life-changing, permanent results from electrolysis — particularly for women who have struggled with facial hair — is incredibly humbling. I get the same feeling from removing blemishes or lesions that cause discomfort or affect someone’s self-esteem.
I feel very lucky to do what I do. Because much of my work can feel personal or intimidating, I always do my best to make clients feel comfortable, relaxed, and completely at ease. I aim to create a safe, welcoming space and chat just as I would with a friend. I absolutely love getting to know the people who choose me as their therapist. I’m often the first person to hear both the good news and the bad — a shoulder to cry on, a confidant, and sometimes a place to rant — and I’m honoured to consider many of my clients friends.
